Tour de France: Chris Froome admits he could have attacked on stage 17
The Team Sky rider finished just behind Nairo Quintana in 20th place on the race's first day in the Alps to retain his 3min 10sec lead over the Colombian in the general classification.
Froome had to chase down attacks from Quintana, Alberto Contador, Vincenzo Nibali and Alejandro Valverde throughout the 161km stage, but he admitted afterwards that he too could have gone on the offensive.
