Family affair for Magpies

Thomas Ince's late screamer set Notts County on the way to a 2-0 victory over his dad's former club MK Dons at Meadow Lane.

The Magpies dominated before and after Ince junior's 86th-minute opener, with fellow substitute Lee Hughes making sure of the points six minutes later after Aaron Wilbraham was sent off for a second bookable offence. The best chance of the first half came after 35 minutes when Craig Westcarr dummied the ball through to Alan Judge, but Dons goalkeeper David Martin come out on top in a one-on-one. The Dons started the second half brighter and almost took the lead when Lewis Guy capitalised on Stephen Darby's poor header, but Rob Burch saved. After Westcarr and Ricky Ravenhill fired wide, Gary MacKenzie was inches away from the opener as he connected at the far post. The visitors had to play the final 15 minutes with 10 men after Wilbraham picked up a second booking, and County capitalised when Ince latched onto a loose ball and powered home from 22 yards. Dons went for broke, and paid for it when Westcarr fed Hughes, who checked inside his marker and curled the ball past Martin.
