Former Spain coach Javier Clemente has replaced Paul Le Guen as boss of the Cameroon national team.
The Indomitable Lions parted company with Le Guen after losing all three of their group matches at the World Cup in South Africa.
German legend Lothar Matthaus had been linked with the vacancy, but Cameroon have opted for the experienced Clemente.
Clemente, who was in charge of Spain between 1992 and 1998, has been handed a two-year contract.
A statement on the
official website of the Cameroon Football Federation read: "Javier Clemente is the new coach of Cameroon.
"The signing of the contract will take place in Yaounde on August 28 later this year.
"In his role, he will also be assisted by Francois Omam-Biyik. The former Indomitable Lion will serve as assistant coach.
"Jacques Songo'o, who served alongside Paul Le Guen as assistant coach in charge of goalkeepers during the World Cup, keeps his post."
