Eredivisie round-up

Feyenoord close on leaders, Sparta Rotterdam win at ADO while Heracles send Vitesse Arnhem packing.

Feyenoord, Sparta and Heracles all win

Feyenoord closed on the leading pack, Sparta Rotterdam won at ADO while Heracles sent Vitesse Arnhem packing. Feyenoord have closed to within three points of Eredivisie leaders FC Twente following a 1-0 win over VVV Venlo. Former Wigan Athletic midfielder Denny Landzaat scored the only goal of the game as Feyenoord bagged their seventh league win of the season. Erik Falkenburg helped himself to a hat-trick as Sparta Rotterdam secured a fine 3-2 away win over ADO Den Haag. ADO twice battled from a goal down with Danny Buys cancelling out Falkenburg's opener before Charlton Vicento equalised his second. However, the home side had no time to respond to Falkenburg's hat-trick when he slotted home late on to secure the three points. Heracles have climbed one place into sixth in the standings after securing a 2-0 away success over Vitesse. Willie Overtoom broke the deadlock on the stroke of half-time with substitute Sebastian Steur settling the destination of the points on 78 minutes. The late match saw NAC Breda edge past rock-bottom RKC Waalwijk 1-0 with Anthony Lurling's 33rd minute effort clinching the points.
