Turner praise for Bradshaw

Graham Turner hailed Tom Bradshaw's performance after his goal earned Shrewsbury a point in their 1-1 at Coventry City.

Bradshaw had not scored a Football League goal for 22 months until Turner introduced the 21-year-old striker from the bench against Swindon recently. But he is now enjoying a rich vein of form and showed a keen eye for goal when he confidently swept home an equaliser from substitute Curtis Main's cross three minutes into the second half. It cancelled out a lead forged by Coventry as early as the fourth minute through exciting top scorer Callum Wilson. "Goalscorers need the confidence of putting the ball in the back of the net and the longer it went the worse it got for Tom," said Turner, of his in-form striker. "But he had the pressure taken off him by leaving him out and then he came on and got the goal against Swindon. "He's done well and I'm pleased for him because he's been working hard in training. He's never got his head down at all, he's kept at it, and he's getting his rewards now as the goals are going in." Turner was encouraged by his team's fightback in the second half after admitting he was relieved Coventry's lead was not more than 1-0 at the break. "Coventry are a good side and you can see how they've scored so many goals this season," he added." We, unfortunately, gave them the start we didn't want them to have by conceding a goal very early on. "That really set us back and we were quite poor in the first half. But in the second half we gave it a good go and showed a lot of resilience, a lot of spirit against a very good side. It's pleasing to have come out with the result that we have."
