McDermott set for punishment

Bournemouth's Donal McDermott could face disciplinary action after failing to meet the team bus before Saturday's trip to Bury.

McDermott, who signed for the Cherries from Huddersfield in January, did not turn up with the rest of his team-mates at the scheduled departure time on Friday, and the Irish winger will now meet with caretaker manager Paul Groves to discuss the incident. Groves told the club's official website: "I think we will have to speak with the player, deal with the issue and the consequences of those actions will dictate what the punishment will be." Groves also admitted he feels McDermott, who was fined by the club after being charged with drink-driving last month, may not fulfil his potential. He said: "There's always that concern. There's obviously a responsibility to the football club, myself and Donal. That's something we will have to address." Meanwhile, defender Mathieu Baudry has extended his loan spell with Dagenham until the end of the season.
