South African set for New Year switch

Borussia Dortmund winger Delron Buckley looks set to rejoin his former club Arminia Bielefeld. According to Kicker, the two clubs have agreed a deal worth around €200,000 (£172,000) that will enable the 31-year-old South African to move to the Schuco Arena in January. Buckley, who will put pen-to-paper on a deal through to 2012, had a successful season at Bielefeld in 2004/05 in which he bagged 15 goals. Bielefeld coach Michael Frontzeck hopes that the experienced player will help boost his front line which is currently heavily reliant on the form of Poland international striker Artur Wichniarek. Buckley underwent a trial at Premier League outfit Hull City prior to the 2008/09 campaign, but failed to earn a permanent deal with the Tigers. Having been restricted to only a handful of cameo appearances on his return to Dortmund he is likely to welcome the prospect of a new challenge elsewhere.
