Relegation battlers can't find the net

Relegation rivals Exeter and Leyton Orient battled out a goalless draw in an uninspiring game of few chances at St James Park. The first half was devoid of many clear-cut chances, but it was Orient that looked most likely to score and veteran striker Scott McGleish headed over at the back post from a John Spicer corner. Exeter enjoyed plenty of possession but failed to test visiting goalkeeper Jamie Jones. Stuart Fleetwood's header, which deflected over the crossbar, was the closest they came in a relatively poor first half. There was little more action after the break with Exeter failing to test the visiting goalkeeper in 90 minutes. The closest Orient went was when Spicer drilled a shot wide from 20 yards, while McGleish was denied by Exeter goalkeeper Paul Jones after a neat one-two. Exeter did threaten as wing-back Steve Tully shot high and substitute Ryan Taylor nodded wide from a Marcus Stewart cross, but they were the only chances in a game where defences were well on top.
