Elder scores for Bees, before Patulea equalises

Brentford had to settle for just a point in an ill-tempered 1-1 draw with dogged Lincoln. The visitors' cause wasn't helped when they arrived an hour late forcing the game to be delayed for 40 minutes. And it was the home side who came out of the blocks quickest to take the lead after 24 minutes, Nathan Elder slamming home an angled drive from the edge of the box. But seven minutes later the Imps were back on terms after Adrian Patulea capitalised on a moment of hesitation to race onto a ball over the defence and fire home a rasping low drive from 15 yards. The closest the Bees came to restoring their advantage was when skipper Adam Newton fired just over on the hour-mark. Lincoln's Dany N'Guessan then had a chance to nick the points at the death but Brentford keeper Ben Hamer was equal to his low drive.
